Kate is the Artistic Director of ZooNation Dance Company which she founded in 2002. In 2010, she became an Associate Artist at Sadler’s Wells and ZooNation became a Resident Company. In 2015 Kate became an Associate Artist at The Old Vic.
For ZooNation Kate has created Into the Hoods (which became both the first Hip Hop dance show to open in the West End and the longest-running dance show in West End history), Some Like it Hip Hop (three seasons at Sadler’s Wells Peacock and UK Tour), The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party (Royal Opera House Linbury Studio Theatre), ZooNation: Unplugged (Sadler’s Wells), Groove on Down the Road (Southbank Centre, Queen Elizabeth Hall) and the ZooNation 10th Anniversary Gala (Sadler’s Wells).
Kate’s work with ZooNation also includes events: Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday (worldwide broadcast live from Hyde Park), West Side Story with the BBC Symphony Orchestra at the Laurence Olivier Awards, the Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Handover Ceremonies 2008, the Opening Ceremony of the Tour de France 2007, and the Opening Ceremony for the IOC at the Royal Opera House for the London Olympics 2012.
Film includes: writing, directing and choreographing The Holloway Laundrette, with Felix Harrison, for BAFTA, Channel 4 and the Big Dance Shorts, and also for the feature films StreetDance 3D and The Harry Hill Movie.
Television includes: two seasons of So You Think You Can Dance (BBC), Saturday Night Takeaway (Craig David with Ant & Dec), Top of the Pops, CD:UK, Smash Hits Pollwinners Party, Strictly Dance Fever, Blue Peter, When Will I Be Famous, Sport Relief, Discomania,The Album Chart Show, Whatever, The Mighty Truck of Stuff, Popworld, and The Paul O’Grady Show.
Theatre includes: Ballyturk at The National directed by Enda Walsh, It’s a Mad World my Masters at the RSC and I Can’t Sing: The X-factor Musical at the Palladium, both directed by Sean Foley, and Shoes at Sadler’s Wells directed by Stephen Mear.

Kate has been nominated for two Olivier Awards, a Sky Arts South Bank Award, a Whatsonstage Theatregoer’s Choice Award, and two National Dance Awards.
Kate is a graduate of Edinburgh University with an MA in General Arts and has an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Winchester.
